Italy Implements Mandatory Regulations On Imported Shoe Leather Products

From October 1st this year, Italy will impose mandatory regulations on the labels of textiles, footwear and leather products sold into the country's market.

The regulations require that the product labels must indicate the origin of products, instructions for use, procedures and products that are in line with the existing regulations, and the safety and reliability of the products.


 


From the Yiwu entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau, it was learned that from the end of January 2010 to the end of April, the total number of goods exported to Italy in Yiwu was 633 batches, amounting to about 20 million 330 thousand US dollars, up 62.7% and 53.2% compared with the same period last year.

Among them, the 254 batch of textiles, the amount of about 7 million 938 thousand dollars; 47 batches of footwear, the amount of about 1 million 238 thousand U. S. dollars, compared with the same period last year, batches and the amount increased by 13.9%, 56.7% and 112.6%, 130.5%.


 


Yiwu inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded that for the product labels, whether designed by themselves or provided by customers, the export enterprises should carefully examine the labels and strictly label them according to the specified requirements.

In addition, the relevant export enterprises should pay close attention to the new regulation requirements of importing countries, strengthen the collection and study of the technical regulations and standards of importing countries, communicate with foreign customers in a timely manner, understand the dynamics of foreign news, and make timely response measures and preparations.
