More than 800 textile and garment enterprises from 17 countries and regions including China, the United States, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Columbia and Portugal participated in this exhibition, including 545 textile and garment enterprises from China. The exhibition will last for three days.

Xu Yingxin, vice president of China Textile Industry Federation and chairman of the textile industry branch of China Council for the promotion of international trade, said that in 2018, China's fiber processing volume was about 54 million 600 thousand tons, accounting for more than half of the world's total, and China's textile and clothing exports amounted to 276 billion 730 million US dollars, accounting for 36% of the world's total. From the supply of raw materials, design and research, to textile dyeing, clothing manufacturing, operation and retail, China's textile industry has formed the largest and most complete industrial system in the world. At the same time, China's textile industry has made great contributions to the development of the global textile industry.

He said that the New York exhibition is a must in the process of China's textile industry going out to allocate global resources. Many Chinese textile and garment enterprises have expanded the international perspective with the help of the New York exhibition platform, and the global market is the fulcrum of the US market, providing strong support for China's textile industry's "going out" and transformation and upgrading.

Gu Chunfang, counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, said in his speech that in the past twenty years, the China Textile and clothing trade exhibition has witnessed the rapid development of Sino US textile and clothing trade, and has also injected vitality into Sino US bilateral economic and trade relations.

She noted that Sino US trade in textiles and clothing has increased from 9 billion 945 million US dollars in 2003 to US $49 billion 718 million in 2018. Through the China Textile and clothing trade exhibition platform, a total of more than nine thousand textile enterprises representatives have conducted exchanges, studies and cooperation with the US industry. The New York exhibition has also become an important force to promote the Sino US textile industry and even the common people's hearts.
