According to customs statistics, in May 2021, China's import volume of PTA in the current month was 4242.26 tons, the cumulative import volume was 25703.36 tons, the import amount of that month was 2.8246 million US dollars, the accumulated import amount was 14.4566 million dollars, the average import price of that month was 665.83 dollars / ton, the cumulative average import price was 550.77 dollars / ton, the import volume fell by 16.09% month on month, and the import volume decreased by 91.09% year-on-year, The cumulative import volume decreased by 88.37% over the same period last year.  

According to the customs statistics, in May 2021, China's export volume of PTA was 227102.69 tons, the cumulative export volume was 1116863.94 tons, the export amount of the month was 148797600 US dollars, the cumulative export amount was 663.5635 million dollars, the average export price of the month was 655.2 dollars / ton, the cumulative average export price was 594.13 dollars / ton, the export volume fell by 12.48% month on month, and the export volume increased by 223.52% year on year, The cumulative export volume increased by 233.07% over the same period last year.  

  Trade countries

In May 2021, the top three export countries of China's PTA are India, Egypt and Oman, accounting for 18.59%, 16.04% and 13.50% of the total export volume respectively. The export volume of the top three export trade countries accounted for 48.13% of the total export volume. Among them, except Oman, Vietnam, Russian Federation and Pakistan, which were 14.62%, 5.36%, 30.39% and 12.10% lower than the same period of last year, India increased by 18.59%, Egypt increased by 16.04%, Saudi Arabia increased by 12.24% compared with the same period last year. The export growth of other trading countries showed an overall upward trend, although there was still epidemic interference abroad, However, from the data of exporting countries this month, the impact is relatively limited.

Trade mode

From the perspective of PTA trade mode in May 2021, it is still dominated by import processing trade and general trade. The overall trade volume in May this year increased significantly compared with that of last year.

Liaoning, Fujian and Jiangsu are the top three export destinations. The three provinces accounted for 61.83%, 10.65% and 9.95% of the total domestic exports respectively. The overall export volume of pta5 decreased by 32400 tons compared with that in April. At present, China's PTA production capacity is up to 62.69 million tons, and there is still an increase in later supply. The main PTA supply is domestic digestion. As the international epidemic situation is still very severe, and the current textile market is in the off-season, the number of orders received by PTA foreign market declined in May, but the overall PTA export volume is still at a high level. In the later stage, with the improvement of foreign market demand, PTA export volume is expected to continue to rise.
