The Production Scale Of Textile Industry Decreased In The First Quarter
The production situation of the textile industry in the first quarter of 2023 fluctuated due to the overall weak demand, the high base in the same period last year, the Spring Festival holiday and other factors. In the first quarter, the production scale of China's textile industry decreased. According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to March 2023, the growth rate of added value of China's textile industry decreased by 3.2% year on year, which is also reflected in the failure of the textile industry to give full play to its capacity. According to the Customs Express, China's textile and clothing exports reached US $67.23 billion, down 6.7% year on year and 17.8 percentage points year-on-year.
Secondly, the decrease in investment in the textile industry also reflects that the production confidence of enterprises has yet to be further restored, and the supporting role in improving supply quality and scale still needs to be strengthened. According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to March 2023, the fixed investment in China's textile industry decreased by 4.3% year on year.
Recently, governments at all levels and industry associations have successively launched policies and activities to optimize supply, promote consumption, and create a good consumption environment. Enterprises will actively explore new markets, develop new products, and open new designs, which will activate the market, increase consumption, and promote the gradual recovery of production scale.
