National Bureau Of Statistics: In May, The Ex Factory Price Of Industrial Producers Fell 4.6% Year On Year

In May 2023, the ex factory price of industrial producers across the country will decline by 4.6% year on year and 0.9% month on month; The purchase price of industrial producers fell 5.3% year on year and 1.1% month on month. On average, from January to May, the ex factory price of industrial producers dropped 2.6% compared with the same period last year, and the purchase price of industrial producers dropped 2.3%.

1、 YoY changes in industrial producer prices in May

Among the ex factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production dropped by 5.9%, which affected the overall level of ex factory prices of industrial producers by about 4.54 percentage points. Among them, the price of mining industry dropped by 11.5%, the price of raw material industry dropped by 7.7%, and the price of processing industry dropped by 4.6%. The price of means of living fell by 0.1%, which affected the overall level of factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.02 percentage points. Among them, food prices rose 0.2%, clothing prices rose 1.4%, general commodity prices rose 0.3%, and durable consumer goods prices fell 1.1%. Among the purchase prices of producers, the prices of ferrous materials fell by 11.1%, chemical raw materials by 10.6%, fuel and power by 7.6%, nonferrous materials and wires by 5.3%, building materials and nonmetals by 5.1%, and agricultural and sideline products by 1.5%.

2、 Change of industrial producer prices in May on a month on month basis

Among the ex factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production dropped by 1.2%, affecting the overall level of ex factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.85 percentage points. Among them, the price of mining industry dropped by 3.4%, the price of raw material industry dropped by 1.5%, and the price of processing industry dropped by 0.9%. The price of means of living fell by 0.2%, which affected the overall level of factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.05 percentage points. Among them, food prices fell by 0.3%, clothing prices fell by 0.1%, general commodity prices rose by 0.1%, and durable consumer goods prices fell by 0.4%.

Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the prices of ferrous materials fell by 2.2%, fuel and power by 2.0%, chemical raw materials by 1.3%, nonferrous materials, wires, agricultural and sideline products by 1.0%, and building materials and nonmetals by 0.7%.
