China Clothing Textile Accessories Expo Syd 2023, sponsored by China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and co sponsored by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, Zhejiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, was opened at the Sydney International Fair Center on July 11. The exhibition is based on the Australian exhibition with a history of more than 20 years. It is the first time for the exhibition to be held in Australia in winter, and it is also the first time for the Australian exhibition to resume large-scale holding since the epidemic. The first day of the exhibition attracted 1251 professional merchants. The exhibition takes clothing and home textile home decoration as the basic concept, with a total of 350 booths, including 272 clothing booths and 78 home textile home decoration booths. There are 323 exhibitors from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Fujian, Shandong, Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui, Hebei, Hunan, Beijing and Shanghai. Exhibitors include both small and medium-sized enterprises and large member enterprises of the Textile Chamber of Commerce, such as Hebei Textile, Qingdao Yulingshan, Anhui Garments, Hunan Dongyi, Lutai Textile, Jiangsu Suhao, Jiangsu Sumeida, etc. The industry features Nantong home textile, Yancheng home textile, Shaoxing home textile, Guangzhou women's clothing, Dongguan sportswear, Ningbo clothing and Huzhou children's clothing.

The exhibition received warm attention from the textile and clothing industry, and the opening ceremony was held on the same day. Cao Jiachang, President of China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, Chen Zhicheng, Deputy Director General of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce, Ge Xuebin, Vice President of Zhejiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Huang Xin, member of the Party Leadership Group of Zhejiang Provincial Government General Office, Chen Min, Chief Representative of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Australia More than 40 leading guests, including Ma Yinfan from Jiangsu International Trade Promotion Center, Mary Kincile, General Manager of Australia International Exhibition Group, and representatives from commercial authorities, trade promotion agencies, exhibition companies, and exhibitors from all over the country attended the opening ceremony.

Australia is an important export market of China's textile and clothing. In 2022, China's textile and clothing exports to Australia will reach 7.8 billion dollars, up 14.45% year on year. As of May this year, China's textile and clothing exports to Australia will reach 3.239 billion dollars, up 5.77% year on year, making it the sixth largest textile and clothing export market in China. The economic and trade relations between China and Australia are stable. The two countries signed a free trade agreement in June 2015 and are both members of RCEP.
