Suzhou University Textile And Clothing Industry Scientific And Technological Achievements Release And Technology Docking Meeting Held In Xinyang City

On the morning of November 26, the scientific and technological achievements release and technology docking meeting of Suzhou University's textile and clothing industry was held in Xinyang City. Experts and scholars from Suzhou University, relevant responsible comrades of Xinyang science and technology system and representatives of key textile and garment enterprises in the city participated in the activity.

The purpose of this activity is to better implement the requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission's Work Plan for Counterpart Cooperation in Key Cities in Old Revolutionary Base Areas and the Implementation Plan for Counterpart Cooperation in Suzhou City, Xinyang City, closely follow the innovative development needs of Xinyang's textile industry, and promote the transfer and transformation of more scientific and technological achievements in Xinyang City with the help of Suzhou's high-end scientific and technological innovation resources.

At the meeting, Guan Jinping, professor of the School of Textile and Clothing Engineering of Suzhou University, made a general release and introduction to the research achievements of the college, and made a report entitled "Thinking on the high-quality development of the textile industry".

The School of Textile and Clothing Engineering of Suzhou University has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Xinyang Yihe Nonwovens Co., Ltd., Huangchuan Rongfeng Textile Industry Co., Ltd., Henan Jiajing Renewable Resources Co., Ltd. and other enterprises.

In recent years, Xinyang City has attached great importance to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, actively engaged in matchmaking, and focused on guiding colleges and universities to closely connect with enterprises. It has established a number of high-end talent gathering platforms, including 4 academician workstations, 6 Zhongyuan scholar workstations, 7 provincial key laboratories, 8 industrial technology innovation strategic alliances, and cultivated 300 high-tech enterprises and 650 technology-based SMEs. In 2023, we will strive for more than 17 million yuan of provincial special funds for science and technology, and successfully set up a 120 million yuan scale R&D fund for the electronic information industry. The coverage of R&D activities of enterprises above designated size will reach 70%, and the turnover of technology contracts will exceed 2.4 billion yuan, effectively promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in the city.

Fashion textile industry is one of the traditional pillar industries of Xinyang City. After years of development, it has formed a layout with Huaibin County, Gushi County and Xixian County as the main industrial bases, and has become a brand clothing ODM supply chain processing base. According to Yang Li, member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, there are 1032 textile and clothing enterprises in the city at present, including 255 enterprises above designated size, accounting for 16.6% of the total number of industrial enterprises above designated size in the city. By the end of 2022, Xinyang has 105700 water jet looms, accounting for 13.7% of the national total. The main business income of textile enterprises above designated size is 29.11 billion yuan, accounting for 13% of the city's industrial revenue above designated size.

"This activity will certainly promote the in-depth cooperation between Xinyang enterprises and scientific research institutes in product technology research and development, textile, clothing processing, ecological printing and dyeing, and achieve complementary advantages and common development. It will certainly promote the fashion textile industry into the fast lane and create an important growth pole for the development of national textile and clothing." Yang Li said in his speech.

At the meeting, experts and scholars from Suzhou University had in-depth exchanges and interactions with entrepreneurs in Xinyang on strategic cooperation projects.
